so cool to get more writing from Jan! i really like this story so far. lots of mystery. I also really like the idea of just going for it with a chapter here and there. great description of the dark London streets.
wonderful poetry at the end as well. not sure if that's the poem you mentioned before but I dig it either way.
Yeah, this one is the most developed, so more chapters will come randomly. We wanted to post two other story first-chapters.
It's a different poem that Jan wrote today. We still have to post the other one!
Jan has actually written a lot of poetry from this MC's perspective. But he didn't have one that would work for chapter 1, so he wrote it today. It hints at the overall story, but of course makes no sense right now.
It can be so helpful to get stories out of your head even if you're trying to focus on one project. I can't wait to see more! Truly this got me really excited to both read more from Jan and keep on wtiting. What a treat!
It can be stifling sometimes to stick to one story line. That's been my issue with the Christmas stories. I love em but every week I'm like whyyyyy haha.
this is very cool. at first it was giving renfield hunting something down for dracula vibes to me. but the time switches and pauses and quickening ohhh i like that a lot. and i need to know more about the trees. dig this.
That’s not a bad comparison, actually (I had to go look it up). Though, there’s no vampires in this—I think.🤔 At least not any of the blood sucking variety. 😂
I really like what's going on with this story and the trees/memories. Very intrigued! Also, I dig the idea of posting chapters from several different works to see which vibes the most.

Jan appreciates all the kind words very much. He's a little stalled halfway into TSA book 2. Switching up things can help infuse new energy.

Anyway this has been inspirational!
*writing obviously
Ooh this was so intriguing! The idea of trees holding memories that you can just cut off? I like this one!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for reading as soon as it was posted 😁
Oooh I like what’s happening here, many little threads of interest laid out
First chapters are hard. How do you let people know what kind of story it is without revealing too much and info dumping? Thanks for reading!

i think it was just the ominous master type. this just has a cool vibe in general honestly!
Oh yeah, he is ominous 😁
not as ominous as the trees 👀 or the little.. imp man 👀 this story already has layers
lol imp man. They are all very much intertwined.
just cause he was small 😅 like an imp. he also seems sorta mischievous.

Thanks, Walt! With so many stories bouncing around, it’s hard to choose what to work on 😂. Maybe data will work.
